Do bioethanol fires give off heat? | Bioethanol fires do give off heat!
Bioethanol fires certainly do give off heat. They may not be as powerful as a gas fire, but an open gas fire will require a flue. 80% of the heat generated is then lost up the flue and out into the open air.
If you therefore have a 6.9kw open gas fire to avoid needing a air-brick, then losing 80% of the heat will leave you with about 1.38kw. Our smallest bioethanol burner is the EcoSmart AB3 which produces 1.7kw, and as there isn’t a flue, ALL of this heat is retained within the room.
